Oakland Police Shoot Protester in Face With Gas, Then Grenade Those Who Try To Help Him

I think it's about time to retire the entire Oakland police force and replace it with something that will protect and serve the city population instead of trying to kill it all the time.

The guy was hit by a rock from a military hating protester, not a tear gas cannister.
There is not enough force behind a fired cannister to do this unless fired 2 inches from someones head, and this guy was way behind the lines. Note the lack of gas surrounding him right after the injury.
I have been down at the site several times and there are serious and open threats against the military, including signs indicating they should be killed.
The flash bang was tossed because anarchists tried to rush the cops when they wanted to bring the injured guy to medical help. The cops took a big risk breaking away from their line to try and help this poor guy.
Note also that the human debris surrounding the guy refused to bring him to paramedics, instead they left him on the ground bleeding while daring the cops to break ranks and help him.
Rocks and bottles pelted the rescuers as they went in without shields and their weapons put away at great risk to their personal safety.
How many of you have the stones to walk into a situation like that and help someone who moments before was attacking you?
Semper Fi? The real pigs are the crowd that didn't care if this man lived or died. Out in the real world one lays down suppressive fire to save the wounded.

I've been following this via Reddit(sorry) since the beginning.
It's interesting that Olberman would take time off from being an elitest meep to stand up for the downtrodden.

Well, not so much stand up for the downtrodden as take the opportunity to smear a governer he doesn't like.

I'm interested in seeing what his bosses have in mind.

Remember kids,
The news is still calling the protest short-sighted and aimless.
There ARE goals.
The first to reinstate the division of banks and trading.
The second to stop to privatization of gains and socialization off loases via taxpayer money.

Nobody faced charges or jail time for the ashattery that led to the collapse.

One bank paid a fine that was a very small percentage of the total profits it made.

Right now there are literally trillions of dollars at stake.

Expect dizzying amounts of spin, payoffs, bribery, blacklisting, blackmail and con games galore. Including the use of agent provocateurs to give the police a reason to use greater force.

Anyway, I don't really keep up with with what the newbies are saying. meep, I don't even twit!

It's true, I haven't been around those parts in years. Jeesh though dude, Sarbucks on Piedmont? That's a low blow. Anyway, unless you sleep on a pile of dragon gold (and i can tell by your neighborhood that is orobably not the case) the occupiers are trying to fight for you and yours. Give them a little respect.

Look at it this way:
You see cuts in education, roads, services to the poor, conservation, firefighting, police, etc, etc.
The very lifeblood and future of the middle class and the poor.
Then we're given the false choice of what to cut. (No mention is made of the fact that the richest 1% that have more money than the entire other 99% combined.
Never before in history has the gap between the haves and have-nots been so wide.
Money has to circulate for an economy to function.
Most of ours is tied up and enriching the elites.
The banks take far more in profits than is reasonable and take risks with YOUR money.

We have a LOT of problems here, from assmaggot wannabe bart cops shooting a man in the back while face down and handcuffed on the ground to the PD shaking people down over minor meep.
I have spent time in thier 'hotel' several times and am no fan.
The fact is, though, that when they put down thier riot shields and batons and wade into a hostile crowd to save an injured guy. Well, then they are doing the job i want them to do. Especially if I am the guy laying bleeding on the ground.
Just as a stopped clock is right twice a day, the OPD occasionally does the right thing also.

That was Berzerkly meeps getting kicked out of the trees they were living in.
Even back in 08 that was lame as they didn't put you in the general population when you got arrested. Protesting in Berkeley is even more meep than protesting in SF. At least in SF the PD will crack your head if you get close enough. Berkeley quit that in the 70's.
