Farmers who raise food-producing animals use about 29 million pounds of antibiotics each year, according to the Food and Drug Administration, and the latest Salmonella outbreak in ground turkey turned out to be caused by a strain resistant to several antibiotics.

Nothing wrong with a few bacteria. Mild infection is good for the immune system. Half the sick people today get that way because we immunize against minor childhood diseases (minor as a child,mostly) like mumps and chicken-pox. The immune system never learns what to do at a young age, not to mention bottle-feeding babies with formula so that they don't get the boost from mum's milk.
